I understand how living with chronic back pain can deeply impact your life.
The constant discomfort can make even simple tasks like bending, sitting, or sleeping feel overwhelming. It’s not just the physical pain—it’s the way it disrupts your daily routine, limits your activities, and affects your mood and energy levels.
Chronic back pain can be incredibly frustrating, especially when it restricts your ability to stay active or enjoy time with loved ones. I know it can be mentally exhausting to deal with pain day in and day out, and the thought of relying on medications or facing surgery can add to that stress.
But you don’t have to navigate this alone.
There are effective ways to manage chronic back pain, and together we can find the right approach for you.
My goal is to help you reduce your pain, regain mobility, and improve your quality of life, so you can get back to the things you love!
✅ Sharp or shooting pain down the leg – a sudden, intense pain that shoots from the lower back, through the buttocks, and down one leg.
✅ Numbness and tingling in extremities – Many experience a pins-and-needles sensation, often in the legs or feet for lumbar disc issues.
✅ Weakness or instability in the legs – the feeling of legs giving out or being unstable, especially during movements like standing up or walking.
✅ Constant, aching back pain – a dull, continuous, and centered in the lower back. The pain may worsen with activities like sitting, standing, or bending.
✅ Limited Range of Motion - Reduced ability to bend, twist, or move the back freely, which can make daily activities challenging and painful.

Here's What Our Patients Are Saying About Us!
"I feel Immediate Relief!"
"When I started coming to HealthQuest I had the back of a 60 year old. The staff is super friendly and there's a great energy here." - Rachel
"I couldn't Walk, I don't have to have surgery anymore!"
"I had pain in my legs and lower back, I couldn't drive or sleep. Now I have little to no pain and I don't have to have surgery anymore " - Claude
I've been coming to HealthQuest for 4 years. I've had several issues over the years - pinched nerve, pulled shoulder muscle, general misalignment, etc. and they always get me straightened back out. Both chiropractors give great adjustments - gentle but effective! I have my back, neck, shoulders, and occasionally my jaw adjusted. Afterwards, a massage by Kristin helps work out my knots and sore muscles. I've worked with the physical therapy team to learn stretches and strength training to improve my condition. Everyone is extremely friendly and I genuinely look forward to coming in and I always feel AMAZING when I walk out the door! :) Shortly after I started coming, I had my husband come too and we've both seen very positive changes in our health.
I came to HealthQuest when I had an injury that was plaguing me daily. They helped heal me and along the way, I realized the numerous benefits to chiropractic care for continued wellness. Now I continue to go every month to keep me feeling great! I sleep better. I digest better. I feel like the real me. For the money, there is no better medical treatment. I will always consult Dr. Prewitt first. Go see him, the consult is practically free. Best decision I've ever made! Eric, Cincinnati

Here are some of our most commonly asked questions
The top five most common causes of back pain are:
Muscle or Ligament Strain: Overexertion, heavy lifting, or sudden awkward movements can cause strains in the muscles or ligaments in the back, leading to acute or chronic pain.
Herniated or Bulging Discs: The soft cushions (discs) between the vertebrae can rupture or bulge, putting pressure on nearby nerves and causing pain, often in the lower back.
Arthritis: Osteoarthritis, in particular, can affect the lower back, leading to pain and stiffness due to the degeneration of the joints and narrowing of the space around the spinal cord (spinal stenosis).
Skeletal Irregularities: Conditions like scoliosis (a curvature of the spine) can cause chronic back pain due to the uneven distribution of weight and pressure on the spine.
Poor Posture and Sedentary Lifestyle: Prolonged sitting, particularly with poor posture, weakens muscles and puts strain on the spine, leading to back pain over time.
Many people want to know when their back pain is serious enough to require professional medical attention, particularly if they are experiencing symptoms like severe pain, numbness, weakness, or pain that doesn't improve with rest.
Chronic back pain can often be managed effectively and, in some cases, significantly reduced or even reversed, but it depends on the underlying cause, the duration of the pain, and the treatment approach.
Here’s how it can be addressed:
Targeted Treatment: If chronic back pain is due to a specific issue like a herniated disc, spinal misalignment, or muscle strain, treatments like chiropractic care, or spinal decompression can address the root cause and potentially reverse the pain.
Lifestyle Changes: Adopting a healthier lifestyle, including regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and improving posture, can alleviate pressure on the spine and strengthen the muscles supporting the back, leading to a reduction in chronic pain.
Pain Management Techniques: Techniques such as Chiropractic care, decompression therapy, and stress management can help reduce pain levels and improve quality of life. These methods focus on retraining the body and mind to manage and reduce the perception of pain.
Advanced Therapies: Therapies like regenerative medicine, shockwave therapy, or spinal cord stimulation can offer new avenues for reducing or eliminating chronic back pain by promoting healing and reducing inflammation.
While it’s possible to reverse chronic back pain, especially if addressed early and with the right treatments, some individuals may only achieve pain management rather than complete reversal. The goal is often to improve function, reduce pain to a manageable level, and enhance quality of life.
Chiropractors can play a crucial role in alleviating back pain by using advanced therapeutic techniques designed to improve spinal health.
These therapies work by gently stretching the spine, which can help retract herniated or bulging discs, relieve pressure on nerves, and promote the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the affected areas, facilitating faster healing.
Additionally, some techniques use low-intensity shockwaves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, reducing inflammation, increasing blood flow, and accelerating tissue repair. Chiropractors use these approaches to target the root cause of back pain, providing relief from discomfort, improving spinal alignment, and enhancing mobility.
This comprehensive, non-invasive treatment plan offers significant pain relief, improved spinal function, and a better quality of life, all without the need for invasive procedures or medication.
